Yeah well Mike I felt like a dip though. I was pretty embarased. I had my camera, I should of asked for a pic with the cop. Trooper Dalton was a good guy. He was professional about it. Not rude in anyway. Just doing his job. I got no problems with him. I am sure, and the lady on the phone was sure it was just a mistake to check the wrong box. They dropped it anyway so whats it matter? LOL
He is only doing the job he is assigned. The real problem is the higher ups that are overenforcing the dragon as a revenue source. Constantly checking your speed is dangerous.
The speed limits are set for night driving in the rain with piss poor equiptment. They only seem to pass out tickets when its clear and sunny. I would be totally onboard with a day time speed limit, and a night or wet road speed limit. On that road 50 day, and 35 night or wet would be totally fair. That would stop the money stream though, so its not a gonna happen.

If they want money, they should make it a toll road. That would eliminate the big trucks, they hate tolls!

Sounds like laser/radar would have done no good in this case, right? I've been toying with the idea of riding down to Deals Gap, but a 30 mph limit sounds ridiculous. Is it safe to assume any leeway, like maybe up to 38 or 39 mph, or do they write tickets for 31?

As far as the limit itself, don't most states have laws that say that speed limits have to be reasonable or fair or whatever? There was a case in Ohio recently of a notorious speed trap town getting slapped down by a court. Sure sounds to me like these are pure revenue generators.

YEP! BINGO! (But yes, some people on the road go wayyy to fast and are endangering people, but this is rare and they usually crash and hurt themselves anyways. Oh and they don't do it around speed traps, so...)
