08' FZ6 S2 I want easier clutch action

I'm getting ready to replace my original 08' OEM clutch cable and I know that will help,but read somewhere that I can install a different small clutch actuation lever down on the engine,which will give me an easier time of working the bike through the gears.
Do I look for one from a different model Yamaha ? thx,Bill

I couldn't find a used lever,so I ordered new from Partzilla(an in-stock item !)and it's 'on the way' to me.

Has anyone ever tried to adapt a quick-shift/type shifter from a newer model Yamaha to the FZ6 ?

It’s the ECU of a modern bike that controls the shift actuator and cuts the spark that makes a quick shifter work. Moreover, the bike design has to include throttle by wire in order to implement the down shift function.

As a result, a quick shift adaptation on the FZ6 is impossible.

I'm fairly sure options like dyno jet exist that allow this, but the cost gain for it is likely not worth it.

I’ve never understood the need for a quick shift (especially upshift only) on a street bike. In fact, you can easily perform clutchless quick shifts by simply unloading the throttle while clicking up.

To this guy who has been riding for 50 years, quick shifters are about as useful as water in your lungs.

I agree, but there are also lots of performance mods on bikes which i would say are useless for street riding, but i think at a production stage they are cheap to add on and are good for marketing.

I am happy with a simple bike and for the few times i get to go to the twisties for a run i have never left feeling i needed quick shifters, wheelie modes, winglets etc. Though i would like to have both me and the bike on a diet, but neither are likely

You don't seem like a guy that goes for half-measures, are you sure you don't want to go all the way to Magura Hymec?
