Hey all, be careful out there! You don't need to be canyon carving or street sprinting to have the close call.

I was heading to my GP for a check up, so pretty chill ride, fine weather, really good visibility and in a 40 kilometre speed limited road, so 2nd/3rd gear at best. I was crossing an intersection with no traffic in any of my adjacent lanes and only one car heading towards me - quiet traffic at 10 am in the morning. Bear in mind we ride on the left hear in Oz, so I was in the right hand wheel track of the left hand lane, and this wacko coming towards me decides at the last minute to cross in front of me- no indication, nothing. It was only that I swerved further left to go around them and they hit the brakes that they didn't take out my rear wheel. Closest call Ive had for a while.

Glad you made it to the doctor for just a checkup. Car drivers have gotten worse over the last decade…ride like you’re invisible.

Something I like to do when there's other vehicles to contend with / be seen...
(On-coming or sitting on a side street)

I swerve back and forth in my lane, being very noticeable.

And as you posted NEVER ride in the center of the road where grease and crap
collect..

Glad to hear you're OK!

You can try your best to make sure you're not on a piece of tarmac that someone else is suddenly going to try and use, but sometimes it's just a matter of luck...

yeah thanks Clif, the Gp even gave me the little certificate and an elephant stamp of achievemant haha. yeah still dfoing the show It morphed into The Rock Stompin Funk n Blues Show back in 2019. Im about to head out but I'll post you the link over the weekend

Hey Scott I have been doing that weave manouever too for a while now, but about to cross the intersection I was just staying straight up, Maybe the weave is gonna be 100% of the time. Good for even tire wear haha
