I have a Sprint ST which is basically the same engine (proudly a bit better since 06). It is fun isn't it. I just did an 8 day, 3,000 mile trip and it never let me down (look for my ride report coming up). Passing slow traffic without downshifting. Most times I had to brake after the pass because I would have overtaken my hubby on his VFR800. lol I have a 2014 Street Triple R (675) too. It has almost as much torque as my Sprint but is so much more flickable. With full saddlebags, I would have loved having the lighter weight STR when we got to the twisties.

Being the new owner of a Daytona 675, you've every reason to be in love. Incredible engine characteristics, eh?!
(Although, you definitely had more displacement than I do having rode that particular bike)

Speaking of 675s... I just rented a Street Triple R and rode the Tail of the Dragon and roads in the area

Yeah, there's a place right on US129 about 45 minutes from the gap. They rent sportbikes, touring bikes, and standards (like the streety).

For sure, in my case I was on a road trip and was passing through the area. Figured I could stop and spend a day riding, but didn't want to tow my bike along for ten days and only ride it once.

The Triples are a blast. I had an older 955i Daytona prior to the FZ. The torque and exhaust note are phenomenal.
