So im going to frankfurt, germany to visit some family for about 5 days next month. i might even check out amsterdam... any suggestions on wat to see??

It doesn't make sense to visit Amsterdam any more. As far as I heard, foreigners are not allowed to visit coffee-shops))))

Yep, thats technically true, but I think if you don't act like too much of a foreigner, you'll be ok. I had a Russian friend (from US) go there, and since he 'looked' and acted the part, he had no issues; Might wanna ask your relatives though

Frankfurt is (to me) like a cleaner, more modern Manhattan, I only spent a bit of time in the middle of the financial district, and it was cool seeing how modern it is (and they have these really weird/cool trees) compared to much of the rest of the country (then again, other cities weren't bombed into oblivion during the war).
You might be able to rent a BMW bike/high output scooter there btw - apply for the universal/international license ASAP though - even though you're ok w/ a US license, some cops may give you a hard time!

With respect to Amsterdam, it's true that the law has recently been changed in Holland this year , officially you have to be a resident to buy "stuff" at a coffee shop. Having said this it is mainly enforced in the southern "counties" where they have a lot of problems with "drugs tourists" who pop across the border to pick up a stash, the main cities (Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht) have said they will not be enforcing the law. So as Metallicat says I don't expect any problems in Amsterdam if you don't overdo the tourist bit :thumbup:
