Suzuki USA files for bankruptcy

I read on another website that Suzuki USA has filed for bankruptcy: American Suzuki files for bankruptcy protection - Motorcycle news: Industry - Visordown
although they are planning to carry on with bikes and outboard motors.

Also the Suzuki plant in Spain which produces some of their models for Europe will also be shutting:Suzuki ceases Spain-based bike production - Motorcycle news : General news - Visordown.

Although I'm not a suzuki fan, I hope they pull through the financial crisis.

The article I read said outboards and atv's only....mentioned nothing about their bikes....I would hope they keep the gsxr....we need something for squids to ride!

American Suzuki is getting out of the automotive market in the US. They will still continue with their "outdoors" business in the USA (motorcycles, ATVs, outboard motors). This is not the parent company Suzuki Motor Co. In fact, the parent company is buying some of the American Suzuki assets.

ouch.. read the article.. didnt realize that they didnt import for a whole year and thats bikes!!! im not really supprised as the economy has been junk and their bikes to me are a bit "cheap".. im sure they are not that bad, but i havent seen much that impresses me with their lineup...

I've owned 3 Suzuki's: '96 Bandit 600, '99 GSX750F and '02 SV650S. All great bikes apart from a few niggles which show their budget character. But they don't skimp where it counts IMO - the engines and gear boxes are great.

They really need to get back into racing and show the world that they can still make good bikes.

woah now! I have personally rolled 2 samurais....lol they are great trail rigs.....just dont get them at ANY angles
