Got to see Metallica tonight!

MWR on base gave out tickets to the concert....last time I saw them they played with Guns and Roses at the Rose Bowl!

Brings me back to my glory days, I've done two tours with Metallica. Actually it was the Summer Sanitarium tours, all stadiums with a bunch of bands. It was miserable. Long days, lots of work.

They've always been my favorite band, by far. I saw them in Seattle in December of 2009 or 2010, can't remember. It was good, but I really wish I was old enough to enjoy seeing them in the late 80's...

Last time I saw them before that was about 12 years ago I think!

Orion festival? Was supposed to go as well w/ my cousin but had to cancel. Hetfield was watching UFC the day before on FX @ Atlantic city... saw him in the front row .

saw them in NOLA when they toured with GNR and Faith No More. I thought it was odd that GNR ended the show. How can you follow metallica? About 3 songs into GNR I went to leave and they started playing knocking on heavens door, which AR stopped in the middle and yelled REGGAE! and went into a reggae version. I left. I believe it was rolling stone that wrote about that concert with one of the best lines ever...... "after Metallica played, nothing else mattered"

I was at Orion fest too! Amazing shows, two nights with a 2 hour show from Metallica each night! Here's a few pics I shot.

There have been a few songs they have said that too but they have eventually found their way into the playlists :thumbup:

They said they wouldnt do Fade to Black live again after the Montreal show on August 8th 1992 after James was burnt by the pyrotechnics but they did revisit that last year :rockon:

They only played And Justice For All live for the first time in June 2007 :rockon:

And from memory it was November or December last year was the 1st & only time they have played Dont Tread On Me live aswell its an AWESOME song :rockon:

You can also tell from my signature that Orion is a very rare treat indeed , only played 35 times since it was written in 1985 due to its complexity :thumbup:
