who makes good cheap frame sliders?

From reading previous threads on the subject of frame sliders, it seems as though you get what you pay for, I'm sure others will chime in with their opinions.

I personally use R&G Racing sliders, I haven't yet tested them (fingers crossed) however I have only heard good things about them, pricey but more likely to protect rather than damage your bike during a crash.

Well worth doing a search for previous threads on this, you'll find plenty of discussion on how people believe their sliders length and bolts heat treatment process had influenced the effectiveness of their sliders during a crash.

I brought similar ones to those. When I tried to torque up the frame bolt the Delrin just compressed and deformed. I have used Puig sliders which were brilliant in my 40mph get off.
I can't remember the make of the one's I have installed now. I got them from a forum member.
You get what you pay for.

If you're looking for cheap and reliable, get T-Rex or Shogun - you'll find lots of positive reviews and crash-tests (mine included). The ones you linked to are junk - I had a pair of the extended ones and while they were nice on long trips (easier to prop your legs up on), they don't have the metal collars inside so they never felt solid and eventually warped and tilted down just from the weight of my legs. Imagine what they'd do in a wreck...

I've got the OEM Yamaha sliders :thumbup:
Not the cheapest, but I'd bet they will hold up great when I need to rely on them (hopefully it won't happen tough )

+1 on you get what you pay for. The dealership installed Motovation frame sliders on my bike before I got it. Tested them about 600 miles later and they worked just fine.

I had the Shogun frame sliders. Ordered an new set for when I get home. Low sided my baby hard at about 25mph when a minivan pull square in front of me as I pulled int a gas station. They worked great. Good luck, and hopefully you never run your own test.

i know what oem means, you actually shoulda said yamaha accesory engine guard and then i woulda understood a bit better.
