Yamaha XT1200Z Super Ténéré experience?

I'm going to a dealer demo day this Saturday morning, and I've booked a group test ride for the Yamaha Super Ténéré. I've not ridden many bikes besides the FZ6 (Ninja 500, Suzuki Savage 650, Yamaha SECA II, Yamaha 125 dirt bike and whatever 250 nighthawk they taught the MSF off).

Any of you guys have any experience with it? After upgrading my FZ6 it has virtually all the features I need for touring (hard luggage, heated grips, aux brake and fender lights, GPS, etc), and I can't see myself dropping $15,000+ on a new bike.

I'm excited to ride it though, has both traction control AND ABS and electronic engine mapping.
 
Took one out the other week on a demo day. Really comfortable, but has brutal engine braking. Not sure I could get used to the sound of a twin over the I4 in the FZ6. Took out a Concours 14 last weekend. Now there;'s a bike I could live with !!
 
I recon it feels like a more powerful tdm900 (not that the people in USA would know what one feels like I don't think they get them) handling is good on the road but havnt had one on the dirt yet. The boss has one and recons he will keep it as his demo for a long time and says its amazing on and off road.
 
I rode one last year only for ****s & giggles at a demo day, was there to deliberately test ride the Trumpy 800XC.

The S10, WOW :D You will notice a massive difference in how the bike performs when switching between the engine maps. Hides its weight well for a bike that's up around 260-270 kilo's (no clue what that is in US weight, but its frigging heavy!).

I want one, reality is though the adventure riding I've started doing is more suited to the bikes currently in the garage.
 
Test rode it Saturday, I'd say it's a better bike than the FZ6. Weird riding a bike that redlines @ 7.5k where normally my bike doesn't make power until 6k :)

I really liked it and would upgrade if money was no object but it's $14,500. I paid $3500 for my FZ6 and $1500 in upgrades. The Tenere is not 3x better.
