Frame Sliders R6?

I know, I should be posting this question on the R6 forum, but I'd figure that there are plenty of members who have, had or know of somebody who owns an R6 to give me some opinions about frame sliders for a 2007 R6.

As you may know, my FZ6 is out of commision and my friend has been so kind to loan me his R6. He never rides it anyways, we bought our bikes at the same time, and I have almost 72k on my FZ and I just turned over 5k on his R6.

I would like to purchase some frame sliders for him in return for me borrowing his bike and putting about a thousand miles on it. So.....anybody have any recommendations? He has expressed intrests in frame sliders, so I'll just get him a pair. But which one?

Id say buy something flashy to make him think you spent alot of money for him helping you out...lol...im sorry that was completely useless to you....unless you decide to do it....

Hey VegasRider, I know this is my first post, but I actually own a 07 R6. (as well as 07 FZ6) I chose the Motovation "no-cut" frame sliders. I looked into most brands and also searched the R6 forum and these seem to be well liked by senior members.

Motovation also has a "cut" style for the R6 that requires cutting your fairing, but those were more for racing. I am very happy with the motovation no-cuts, but still have yet to test them!

I liked them so much that i also purchased Motovation for my FZ6... frame and axle sliders. I hope I was able to help.

I second the Motovations. I haven't pulled the trigger on them yet, but I've looked a bunch, and they look like high quality sliders, and not blingy like most you'd get from a shop.

Slight hijack, anyone got a good source to buy Motovations from? They want almost $20 to ship a set to me!

Motovation is very nice, another option is Woodcraft. They are about $65 or so. A third option is Vortex. They came on my R6 and both sides have taken hits and appear to have done their job.

I'm embarrased to say. But a neglected Cam Chain Tensioner has resulted in a failure to the Crankshaft Position Sensor. Heck, now I know what that noise is.

Waiting on the sensor to be shipped from the land of the rising sun. Zero stock in the USA, according to Yamaha. Bike Bandit and Ron Ayers had zero.

Its great that your buddy is letting you ride his bike. I'd like to hear what you think once you get some miles in.
