Starting to go Warp speed

After racing MX for many years I bought my first street bike 05 FZ6. It only had 1Kmiles on it and now has 4K. So after one year now I am familiar with certain backcountry roads and dont let my Ducati buddies go- I try to stay with them. This means 2nd through 4th wide open exiting turns and once in awhile wide open till she tops out at 1_ _. This bone stock bike flat out hauls but. Ive changed bars, headlights, horn but everything else including tires is bone stock. The stocker absolutely flys with the throttle pinned through the gears. I personally think that if you need more than this bike it is best to sell it and buy something else. Thats just me though and my MX bikes are the same. BTW, my bike is going up for sale. I want more torque and stiffer suspension. Anyway, thank you all for the tremendous knowledege Ive gained on this website. It is funny how connected one feels with others never having met before. Hanging out on the web is the new social way.

The FZ6 is an awesome bike, especially for the price.

You might consider tossing in some stiffer RaceTech springs and heavier fork oil to stiffen up the front end, and a -1 tooth countershaft sprocket and/or +1 or +2 rear sprocket to up the torque. Both would be considerably less than buying a new bike, which you could still do after the mods.

+1 on more torque and stiffer suspension. I love this bike but I've been contemplating on these two mods for the longest time. For me, the front end does not build confidence to go faster and lean harder. Especially in tight S type corners, I feel like the suspension goes out of control. "The mid-turn wobble" so to speak, is probably made worse by my lack of experience, but I feel like the stock setup is not good for riders who are trying to switch to more advanced sport-riding from everyday city riding.

Thats a interesting take on the bike...to me it seems to inspire confedense and be very forgiving at the same time compared to jumping straight on a ss

Oh no I wasn't trying to say that newbies should jump on SS bikes because those have better suspension etc. I think the stock suspension setup is excellent for city riding - commuting - sport touring and very beginner friendly. But if you do any spirited canyon riding or track riding, I think you can agree that this bike needs some upgrades. Going faster and leaning farther, the snappy throttle and soft suspension combination starts messing up my line.
