Question on the dual headlight mod...

So stock, are both left and right bulbs H4 and have high and low filaments? Or are the different bulbs?

In low beam, just the left bulb is turned on the low beam filament?

In high beam, both left and right bulbs are turned on the high beam filament?


I'd like to mod the bike so in low beam mode, both sides are using the low beam filament, and in high beam mode both are using the high beam filament.. is that the standard mod?

One bulb is an H4 and the other is an H7 (forgot which is the dual-filament one).

Stock setup is for the low beam to only use the single-filament bulb on the left, and on high beam, to use the single-filament low-beam bulb plus the high-beam filament on the right bulb.

There are numerous variants of the dual headlight mod, but most entail activating the low-beam filament on the right (dual) bulb, when low-beam is switched on. Some folks have modified the left socket to accept the other type of bulb that has both filaments. Do some searches, there's tons of info already posted in the forums.
