Big congratulations to CADEL EVANS for taking out this years Le Tour de France (his grandfather was Welsh you know ;))

Absolutely outstanding win. The individual time trial sealed the deal for him. He has waited a long time for this. Thorougly deserved. Pity they had Tina Arena singing the national anthem - can't stand that chick :BLAA:

Otherwise :steve: sooooo happy for him.

Go Australia :aus::aus::aus:

:mikebike:

I am now looking forward to going to bed BEFORE midnight - 3 weeks of this has just about killed me LOL

Awesome for Cadel! 1st Aussie to win TdF EVER! Can't even credit the team that much.. he pretty much did it all by himself. Well done!

:cheer: :cheer: :cheer: Well Done Cadel :thumbup: I know nothing about the sport but I dont care because an Aussie won on the World stage & that means we all get a little bit of a head swell :BLAA:

AWESOME,Congrats to Cadel,well deserved(been watching him since his mtn bike days & was blown away when he won the mtn bike world champs & the road cycling world champs last year)

Me too - AWESOME mountain biker :rockon:

Still can't believe he did it. Still quite emotional about it.

As a kid growing up in the 80's only getting snippets (cycling got literally no coverage here) on Phil Anderson's racing exploits, I have dreamed of this day (and hoped it would be me, well at least over in Europe racing as a professional thankyou family :Flip:)

This is massive for cycling in this country. Its amazing, even through the 90's true cycling fans here were just happy to count more than one Aussie in the peleton. Nowdays we count out how many/what stages we will win. Times have really changed :thumbup:

Well done Cadel. :cheer:
Welsh ancestors, who'd have thought with a name like that. :rolleyes:

I should just mention the amazing Mark Cavendish he had an amazing ride, and his team worked so hard for him, great stuff. :cheer:

Cav has got 2 Aussies that finish off the lead outs.

Matt Goss is 2nd last & then Mark Renshaw brings him to 150m-250m out depending on the finish.

Cav's just too fast. Have not seen the Worlds course, but if it favours sprinters and he has this form, only way you can beat him is by getting in a breakaway.
