What brand 15T sprocket to get?

I see a few different kinds. Still gonna' be an inexpensive mod no matter which one I choose but wanted to get opinions if you guys think one is better than the other or if there is no real difference.

so.. after some google-edge I find these 3: Anyone have a suggestion or preference?

Not sure it matters much as long as it's steel (aluminum is lighter but will wear faster).

I went with JT for front and back (15/47), but that was mostly because JT was one of the few brands I saw that made a steel rear in 47 tooth. I've seen others recommend Vortex also.
 
Thanks, helpful. You reminded me of something I hadn't thought about.. steel vs aluminum. Would def. go for a steel sprocket
 
Most of those aluminum sprockets are 6061 or 7075 T6 if I'm not mistaken. They should be almost equal to the strength of most steel sprockets you'll find. Most quality aluminum sprockets are coated for further durability.

From Wikipedia:

6061-T6

T6 temper 6061 has an ultimate tensile strength of at least 42,000 psi (290 MPa) and yield strength of at least 35,000 psi (241 MPa). More typical values are 45,000 psi (310 MPa) and 40,000 psi (275 MPa), respectively.[3] In thicknesses of 0.250 inch (6.35 mm) or less, it has elongation of 8% or more; in thicker sections, it has elongation of 10%. T651 temper has similar mechanical properties. The famous Pioneer plaque was made of this particular alloy. A material data sheet [4] defines the fatigue limit under cyclic load as 14,000 psi.

I've run steel and aluminum, I've never had a problem with either.
 
I would not recommend Vortex from my experience. I did the -1/+2 mod and used Vortex for the front sprocket. After only 1 year and 3,000 miles I started noticing a lot of driveline lash. I replaced the cush drive rubbers which helped, but there was still too much lash with the chain adjusted properly. I took a look at the front sprocket and noticed radial play. The splines had acually started to wear... not only on the sprocket, but on the shaft also! The tolerances must not be close enough combined with the sprocket being too hard. Vortex uses chromolly steel which is very hard. In my opinion it is better to go with a material that is softer than the shaft so that the sprocket will wear. Better to have to change the sprocket more often than having shaft wear which requires extensive work to replace. I ended up keeping the 48 tooth rear but went back to OEM 16 tooth since it fits better and a lot quiter with the rubber damping.

Interesting perspective. I had thought the steel ones were better since they are expected to last longer than aluminum. Would you think aluminum is a better choice?
 
I went with Supersprox for mine simply because they made the rear sprocket I wanted so I bought the front from them as well. It is a steel one but has holes in it to lighten it a bit. Their rear ones are aluminum but with steel teeth.
 
Not sure if this is going to run afoul of forum practices, but I did a write-up on the sportbikes.net FZ6 forum of the various brands and prices I found when I was searching for a new 15T sprocket a few years ago.

There's 10 listed on this thread here with links and prices at that time.

I think I went with the Esjot one myself if I recall correctly.

Watch your shipping costs as much as the sprocket, as they vary wildly and have a big difference in the total cost.
