So with nothing but rain in the forecast up here in Northern California it was a good time to jump on my FJR and head 500 miles south to enjoy some sun and riding the great roads in the Anza Borrego Desert.
Never know who may ride up next to you..

Actually Motogiro was good enough to meet with me and and spend some of his day showing me some mighty fine roads in his back yard. We enjoyed lunch at Carlee's and they even let Cliff park that Suzuki next to my Yamaha!

While we were riding near Warner Springs I saw a small airport that offered glider rides. Having always wanted to do this so the next morning I rode back to Warner Springs and set up a glider ride.
I was mighty brave before we went up.

Ok were airborne, here's what I see behind the tow plane.

Looking down on the airport and my way cool instructor Ryan- good guy!

Now that I am a flying fool I'm ready for this bird. Actually it had made a emergency landing and the boys from Brittan were here to fix it. They come to our Southwest Desert to train for Africa duty. Nice to talk to the Britts, thanks for you service guys!

Wouldn't want to sit on this.

Some FJR art

A pic over the top of my head looking behind me.

Again a big thanks to Cliff as it was fun to meet and ride with a fellow forum member. Lucky for me the Feejeer had enough grunt to keep up with his SV for the most of the ride, man I was wishing I had my FZ1 for some of these roads.
Ended up riding 1,770 miles in 4 days and with big time wind, rain temps in the 40's on the way home it was darn nice to hunker down behind the tupperware on the FJR. The bike turned over 75,000 miles on this run and the bike was flawless considering most of the ride was 80+mph and with no performance awards from the Leo's it was a great trip!
