08 VERSYS engine guards,hard luggage. SW Missouri. Anybody?

Still riding it, but if someone'd like to have it....
Its just too tall for short guy like me . Overall (in comparison with fz6) better wind protection, way more comfortable and could easily handle some light off-road. Oh, has much more torque on low and mid rpms....oh well thats paralel twin. Better gas mileage! I used it for long, multi days touring.

No problems at all. Chan and sprockets are in excellent condition. Fresh filters and fluids but its about time to change oil after winter storing. Always garaged. Btw this is motorcycle of the year back in 2008! Best value for the price; sure you could buy dl650 for same money but with 30000-40000 miles on it and and 3-4 years older.

If you've ridden it directly in comparison to an OEM FZ6, can you comment on the suspension quality, please? Top end boost isn't as much of a consideration for me currently as good suspension, good mileage, and roomy ergos.

Nice to hear the Versys gets better MPG, and has more bottom end.:thumbup:

one of my riding buddies has that same bike, it is a nice
machine, very versatile...too tall for my tastes though...
I think it's a way better bike than the little Vstrom

Versys much better at fuel economy and comfort; however its taller and heavier. Suspension is little different, it can handle some off road pretty good. Egros are Ok but take some time to get used to it. Grate handlebars, wide and much closer to you then on FZ6. It doesn't buzz, mirrors are fine on freeway speeds and it sounds like it has some balls )) Im happy with the bike, its just too tall for me and you can find way more aftermarket parts and other goodies for fz6.
If you like touring and higher that 5'9" Versys is very nice choice.
Oh, another thing - all dirty stuff from road comes right on the muffler making it impossible to clean after few thousand miles.
