The Aussie prees has been playing up the Poms chances, in light of Australia's indifferent form of late! But this is the Ashes....the Aussies will take no prisoners, and push the Poms aside to win 5 nil!

If i am wrong, so be it! i will be the first to congratulate the mother country on their victories...but not likely...we are on home soil, on pitches that dont take reverse swing, and we are playing with a ball that actually bounces!

My personal hope for the series, is the dismantling of the great pretender....Kevin Peiterson...head case of the worst order IMHO, and he deserves nothing less than a dressing down!

Come on Aussie, Come on!!!

Our ball bounces fine. Its just your left arm throwing girls haven't mastered it yet.
Anyway sorry to have kept ya waiting. Had some family trouble recently.
I am so fed up though, I haven't seen one ball bowled over here.
The Irish have as much interest in watching cricket as they do learning the English national anthem.
Can't get the BBC on the PC because of some stupid IP addy issue.
If anyone has any good streaming sites let me know asap.
Personally I think the two sides are as well matched as they ever have been.
Even when we won it last. We had the help of the good old English summer.
So who every wins this one will deserve it.
All I know so far is that the Aussies have broken a batting partnership record on day three.

Not bad considering Haddin was going to be dropped. I'm going to go to my laptop as my nokia is driving me mad.

Great partnership by Strauss and Cook. Like I said two very evenly matched sides.

Cook like Haddin was also under pressure for his starting place.

No, it's quiet down under because Wolfman has gone away to a wedding for the weekend and Humperdinkel IS AT THE GABBA watching the test.

Myself, I've just got back from Barbagallo Raceway in Perth - watching Mark Webber take his Red Bull Formula 1 car around the track :rockon: :rockon:

I was getting cricket updates all day on my phone - we have not bowled well. Can't win a game if you don't get the opposition out :shakehead:

Can't judge on how you guys batted - don't know if there were missed chances or not, but well done to the openers today!

That's why it's quiet down under ;)

Won't be for long. And, BTW, we do give credit when credit is due. Well done today England. Make the most of it ;)

Brilliant fightback from the Poms today...in fact, i dont think they could of hoped for a better day!!!

Tomorrow is going to be a very interesting days play...

I also think England where robbed on Day 3....Hussey should been given out on 85!!!

And, oh yes, i have been quiet, cause i was outback of nowhere at a wedding, with no phone reception, or PC access!

PMSL.....you won't hear much from me either way....I'd rather gnaw off my own head than watch a test match:eek:.

About as entertaining as sitting in the bathroom to see if you can see some mould grow:BLAA:.

I believe they call it the "ashes" series, 'cause one year even the players got so freaking bored with it all they immolated themselves:eek::BLAA::D
 
Were definitely headed for a draw.

Hopefully the poms declare this arvo & have a crack at getting us out just to keep it interesting.

Gotta hand it to the England side................. those Sth Africans can bat :D

There is one advantage to giving British passports to any old Tomas, Derk and Hari.
 
The game has just finished in a draw....Captains got together with about 15 to go, with Australia on 1/107!

English bowlers looked lack lustre too today!

Adelaide next...and i am going! :rockon:

snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.

Like I said two evenly matched sides.
Personally I am not a fan of the referral system, as I like the way the umpires can make or break a test.
It would seem that there wasn't to much in the crease. All morning they were talking about the cracks opening up. They never did though. I blame the Americans for that, bloody global warming.

A big thanks to Humps for the ABC link actually saw some highlights.

If you Aussies really want to get going and riled up before the next test. Have a listen to Sir-know it all- gob

I can't stand the bloody man, he still thinks he is England's captain and calls himself a batsman when most consider him a pensioner. Having said that the Aussie commentator on day three was as bad. Already calling for Ricky's head.

The Aussie commentators have been awful ever since Australia stopped winning every game they played! The problem is Australia has been so good for so long, that any normal level of performance is seen as inadequate...

Losing the likes of Langer, Hayden, Warne, Mc Grath, Gilchrist, plus others has left a gaping whole in the Australian line up...it aint Ponting's fault!

As for Boycott, no-one listens to that geriatric ol fart do they! He was a wanker when he played, and has only got more boresom since!

I think the last day of the test proved just how flat the track was....it just got more "road" like as the game wore on!

The referral system needs to be in the hands of the Unpire's, and there seems to be loud calls from all quarters, for this to become the case...what happened in this match was great for Australia, but it took away from the match, as it was very clear that Australia got a distinct advantage because England had used up their 2 referrals...bloody stupid!

The Second Test in Adelaide has the potential to be a draw with these 2 sides...flat as a pancake, batsmen's paradise...and both sides look to lack penetration with their bowling attacks...
