The only time I Usually split is then traffic is very backed up. Anybody ever split with a passenger on the back and through tight traffic?

I have once, and I'd rather not do it ever again. You need to have fast reflexes to split in traffic properly and the slowed reflexes of the bike with the extra weight makes it hard to do this safely. If you can avoid it, I would.
