High RPM Squeel.

Hey everyone.
I just bought a 2006 FZ6 (faster blue color) a week ago and have been lovin it! (Almost dropped it this morning on my way to work taking a turn and hitting the rear break.) :shakehead: Haven't ridden in 2 years but its starting to click now.

Anyways. I bought the bike used with 2800 miles and it rides real strong. But whenever I hit over 6-7000 RPMS or so the engine begins to squeal. Almost sounds like a really high pitched, really fast rattling. I have no idea if thats normal or not. I've only ridden for like 1 year before selling off my old ninja500 so i'm not an experienced rider. I'm not a super aggressive rider either and got this bike to commute so I won't be pushing it real fast to often, but I'm just worried its going to be a problem.

Does anyone know more about this? Is it suposed to do that?

I had a similar problem on my 06 FZ6 (prior ride was also a Ninja 500R) Turned out to be the clutch handle rattling (happened around 8k rpm). When you hear the hi pitched squeal, press down on the clutch lever.(Don't pull clutch lever in to disengage clutch, press down on clutch lever while clutch is engaged). If it goes away as soon as you press the clutch lever down, you know what the problem is. Aftermarket levers will fix this...or in my case, because I'm cheap, I installed a hand made very thin plastic washer(made from an old transparency sheet) on both sides of the lever bolt. Problem is solved and has not returned since washers were installed (2 years ago, now).

I know it sounds crazy, but that could be what your experiencing on your bike.

Exactly the same happened to me on my 08 naked FZ6 and the solution was similar.
