You'll always get people giving you advice - some will be for, some against.

I hope you do the ride, but, only if you feel confident that you'll be safe.

Name a place - people will tell you not to go. I've heard the same about touring the US, the UK and even Australia.

Good and bad everywhere. Just evaluate the risk and be prepared.

All this talk about Mexico---Here's a 1st class (joke) hotel that I stayed at in the border town of Neuvo Laredo (2007). I first tried to check into a hotel around the corner but the clerk advised me against because it was a brothel, but so was the room across the hall from me in the other hotel. I think I paid 50 pesos (about $10USD). I love Mexico. Lots of adventure.

That was a very provocative and touching post. It touched me and put a tear in my eyes. I have a brother who is paralized from the waste down and have been through a lot of emotions regarding him the last 15 years. It's really tough to keep your head up when thing are super bad. It's taken my brother years and years to finally accept being a parapalegic. The really hard part is every day things like going to the bathroom and stuff like that. I have said many prayers for him and now for another riding brother Clayton.

Lone, do it!!! I've been to Mexico a bunch of times and got lost in quite a lot of non-touristic scary places and never had an issue... Of course there are some hot spots, so just avoid them and you'll be fine.

I'd pick a better bike for it though, like Lucky Devil suggested...

Don't by the new bike yet get a used one ride it until trip sell used one. Fly south, buy a reliable used bike once you get there, with the time saved flying go into S. America, sell bike, fly home. Come home buy new bike.

haha, well before I can post them i have to resize them and touch up the contrats and things for the ones where the lighting was off.

then i have to find time which i havent had yet. work 8-5, then class 5-9, then on saturday class 9-5.

but i have sloooowly been working thru them. believe me i really want to. it would allow me to relive the trip mile by mile. it was bloody fabulous and i wouldnt trade that time for anything.

cant wait for next year's!

lol, the resolution on them is like 15,000x10,000. you'd have to scroll for quite a while to see the whole picture for each. trust me, itll make for much nicer viewing when i finally put them up.
