Cheers for the input....we still have not bought a new helmet for my partner as yet...but the IS-16 is still no.1 on our list.
That review helped.
Cheers.

No problem.
My wife uses an HJC CL-Max flip-face helmet. It's a couple of years old, and I am unsure if HJC still makes them. We got this helmet because she used to wear glasses, and it was easier for her to don and doff the helmet. It was nothing really fancy, in that it did not have a great venting system, chin skirt, integrated sun shield, etc. She also complained that it was loud. I wore it once or twice, and agree with her. It seems that the wind really catches on the lip where the flip-up portion meets the 3/4 helmet portion, and whistles pretty loudly at speed. She was complaining of this while riding pillion, so you can imagine how loud it was 'up front'. Also, in the event of a crash, I am unsure just how well a flip-face would hold up, even with the chin bar engaged.
I'm sure that flip-face helmets have improved over the last few years, and I am a staunch HJC advocate, but I would definitely NOT recommend a CL-Max flip-face to anyone, and will be upgrading her helmet this fall (gotta wait for the other major Canadian season to start - Hockey!
