restricted fazer

i just signed up,im from cork in ireland and im thinking of buying a 2004 fazer 600,
but i just wanted to know what the acceleration is like on a restricted 2004 fazer,

Do you have the 76hp version or the 98hp?

Never heard of a restricted Fazer, mine is a 2004 and I get almost 100hp on the dyno.

The 2004 models aren't restricted. That version wasn't available until 2007 when the S2 version was introduced, which had 98 hp. At the same time the pre facelift versions got restricted down to 78 hp.

Never ridden a restricted Fazer, although when I first got my XJ6 I had to get it restricted to 33bhp. It was very sluggish and slow to get upto speed compared to when I bought it stock... In a straight line, my friends CB250 was quicker, although he topped out much sooner - Weight was the big factor in that though. I found handling could be a little stetchy at times, again having such a heavy bike with two thirds of it power removed is bound to have some adverse effects!

It was certainly rideable and very enjoyable once you got used to the difference it was a great bike! Afterall it'll only be restricted for a year or two at the most surely?

I couldn't imagine riding a bike as heavy as an FZ6 with only 33 bhp
I know it's the law and all that,but hand on heart,I'd say get a bike thats designed to have 33 bhp,(smaller cc) ride it around till you can get a full powered bike. It would be like cutting the balls off a best mate
