Embaressing Headlight Problem.

I feel like a complete idiot but I am unable to figure out how to put the bulb holder back into its place over the rear of the bulb. My dim bulb shot tonight just as I began to ride so I quickly turn around and pull off the back of the light. As I was unscrewing the holder it shot off in a spring action and I completely have no idea how it should fit back into position. If someone could post a picture of their left side dims with the H7 shown it would be of great help to me.

Thanks for the picture it should be a big help as I was doing it upside down it seems. Pretty sure the screw has fallen into the headlight assembly itself and rolled forward so I will have to wait till daylight tomorrow to get it up on a hill and hope it will roll back down for me.

In the future, DON'T REMOVE THE SCREW.

Push in slightly and move the other end of the retainer in and it will swing out allowing the bulb to come out...

I think swapping headlight bulbs (main one at least) is a skill everyone should know how to do because if you don't have one, your screwed either because it's night or you'll get a ticket.

I also think it's not a bad idea to bring an extra bulb esp. on long trips (or have quick access to one). I don't bring an extra bulb but bring a cell phone for my wife to bring one . For a long trip, I would recommend carrying one or ensuring you travel by places that sell them.

Enough preaching on this Sunday morning for me. I hope you get your bulb hooked up and back on the road.

That would have been great to know beforehand heh. I absolutely didn't realize it was a spring until the second it shot off. But today I parked on a slight incline the screw came back to me fairly easily and with my small fingers i was able to fish it out. Popped it back on bulbs back in and everythings fine, thanks for the help guys.
