Down and Out!!!

I dont have the bike yet but decided to get the helmet, jacket, and gloves right away when I do but now I guess I will for sure get some pants as well...Especially since this is my first bike! I know I will probably get a few remarks about starting out on an FZ6 but some say its good, some say its bad.. Im getting a good deal on it since it needs a few parts but is rideable.
After this post and seeing your leg, I am for sure adding pants to my list of first buys for PPE!

Thanks again!

old thread.. but still good advise.. pants are a must... i had got a set of new tourmaster pants on ebay for $75.. retail was $300... havent tested them yet, but worth every penny...

My first bike was a FZ6 and I though I made an excellent choice. Good luck and ride safe.

To OP, hope you get well soon. Funny we both have the same helmet and I also wear all my protective gear except jeans. I am definitely getting myself some protective gear for my legs. Take care!

The human body is an amazing "machine". Name any other machine that can repair itself! We humans are pretty damn lucky in that regard. So this too shall heal!
When you're up to a re-mount remember ATGATT! :D

Wow, your a big man for admitting what happened and sharing photos with all of us here. It's a sober reminder that things can and do happen. This is making me question now if the kevlar jeans I just bought (Sliders from compacc) are enough protection!

I wish you a speedy recovery hopefully one without too much pain.

Yikes!
I'm flipping over to Ebay after this visit,as I'm guilty of wearing jeans with a pair of cargo's over the top.
It's always at the back of my mind when I'm gunning it and it's posts like this that bring it to the forefront

Hope your ok fella.

I dont blame you, It would suck to endure a cheese grater on the body.

hope you heel up quick and glad it wasn't worse. I know how it feels half my left elbow and the underside of both hand are now scared up from dumping my first bike with just and mx jersey. I was only goin 25mph but asphalt is unforgiving.

heal quick man.. and kudos to you for posting up the pics.. the bike doesnt seem to be in too bad a shape either. reminds me to get some decent riding pants. im one of those who ride in jeans

you know.. th original post was from 8-2009... wonder if the op can come back and give us an update and maybe a "what i learned from all of this"...

I have sliders too. I fell off the back of a bike and landed on my butt once (sliders held there); but I also hit my right knee and the sliders ripped . I had road rash the size of a quarter and dime combined -- so I was lucky. I now wear pads underneath sliders. compacc ($10 off) gave me a small discount on a new pair of sliders.

That is the pits.
Hope you heal completely with no permanent injuries.
Pain meds will come in handy for awhile.

Noticed the crankcase damage. Did you have frame sliders installed?.
