BT-016 - OE Code

Hi All,

I was looking at the BT-016 and wondering which one is best for our bike? Should I just get the non-OE one? Thanks!

not sure it makes a difference. I got the one that didn't have the letter.

Maybe the OEM code ones have the logo on it?

If you're talking about OEM factory fitment BT-016's go with the non OEM. Especially if your buying them for performance. The OEM rear tire is made from 2 compounds not 3 compounds and I imagine the front tire is one compound not two. This is what I've heard. People who have used the OEM 016's that came with the bike were not impressed. The 016's I just ordered are awesome! I just thrashed down Montezuma Valley Rd. yesterday in very very strong winds that continually altered my line and they where incredible! Had to come home through a rain storm. Now, as far as wear and longivity that may be another story and is most commonly a tradeoff...

EDIT: I may have given incorrect info on the compounds the rear tire may have 3 compounds, in 5 areas of the tire but again from word of mouth at the dealer they said the OEM fitment tire is not as good as the non OEM. Ive heard this on other OEM tires.

Good to know the BT-016s kick butt in rain. I loved my Roadsmarts in rain last year. I just bought a set of BT-016s I'm hoping to mount on separate rims. I'm using a used BT-016 on my rear rim I got used -- that thing kicks it :rockon:.

Any idea how BT-016 goes in cold? I know Roadsmarts are decent (non-aggressive riding) and no surprises in 30F. I've only had BT-016 in maybe 35F and sunny.

Okay they did confirm what I had heard about the OEM 016 as found on the GSXR 750 does not have the same number of compounds as I had heard was on the aftermarket 016.

Thanks for the videos and my first choice was the Pirelli's but a little expensive for me right now but next time Corsa lll's
