What next?

I'm going to order the carbon fiber scorpion cans this week for my 2009 fz6 and i was just wondering in your opinion what should my next few mods be? i dont want to do anything too expensive but i want to change it up. i was thinking of a dark smoked Puig windscreen and a fender eliminator. any ideas?

I just ordered the puig windscreen as well. As far as the fender eliminator kit goes.... Get it! Definatley makes the bike look much better. If you want to keep your stock signals and not spend $80 like some kits you should try to find the FAZR6 fender eliminator kit on ebay looks good and is fairly cheap.

im not having any luck on finding those kits on ebay. but they are cheaper on some of the other fender eliminators.

That's the link to the ebay page. I put the kit on my '04 last summer and it works great! It even uses the factory tail lights.

It's fairly easy. The guy who makes the kit sends instructions along with it. You'll need basic tools and a utility knife.

Definitely new signals. The stock signals are ugly. Newenough.com has some for pretty cheap. I got mine from there and they're good quality and great price.

Everything seems to be expensive for these bikes. I agree with the above poster-get some different turn signals. I'm still running my stock ones, but I'm shopping for some flush mounts. I also want exhaust for mine, but I can't really afford that right now.

Look at Boneman's page. He has some Watsen flush mounts that look really nice, plus, he's done a ton of mods and his bike looks great.

Other mods that aint too exspensive, but work real good at improving the bikes performance in critical area's like, braking, control, and preservation of your bike...

Braided brake lines, Crash Sliders, Aftermarket levers.... all can be done for under $400 each, and are worth every penny.

I'm actually thinking about getting some frame sliders. any recommendations on wut i should get? i was looking at these ones. Shogun Motorsports Sportbike Frame Sliders Yamaha :: New Enough Motorcycle Hard Parts but im new to this and im not sure wut im supposed to be looking for.

I personally have Puig frame sliders. They're more expensive than some other ones, but they look a lot cooler. And I know from experience that they do the job. When I crashed my bike, it definitely saved it.

I have GTYR frame sliders - saved my bike when I dropped it on it's side, also D3-Components fender eliminator from the UK - good price and looks great.

Have you thought about clear indicators/tail light etc?

How much does braided brake lines affect braking? I have thought about this mod but havent done it yet. I take it they're not just for looks.

Braided lines make lever action much more direct, or less "spongy" when applying pressure at the lever, which in turn makes the braking action more direct at the disc...effectively making your braking more efficient, with better feel...

Braided lines also cope with heat better, so as a result, brake fade under heavy braking use...in other words, you are much less lijey to run out of brakes when sport riding, or riding with a heavy load, like riding downhill, 2 up.

They also are more durable, and harder to puncture, split, or become brittle over time.

i have those on my bike I haven't had to test them yet though thankfully

Yeah I've been thinking about that. The only thing is with the fender eliminator im getting it uses the stock turn signals. Can i still use that same fender eliminator and put after market turn signals on? And i want to get the flush mount signals for the front.

Yes you can still use stock signals. They sell black plug adapters that are the shape of the stock signals hole but fit aftermarket. I ended up just using fender washers that I painted black.

The FE I got didn't fit the plugs, so I think it depends on who makes it, too.
