Greetings, just because I have been absent doesn't mean I havent been riding or missing this forum and it's fantastic database of FZ6 information.
I hear there may be an FZ8 coming?
Now don't get me wrong, more power at any range is always welcome but at the expense of an undertail exhaust?? I think I prefer the FZ6 on this count.

Infact while walking around Peter Stevens Geelong shop today, every second bike seems to have some sort of undertail exhaust or variation of it these days, aye what? Good one Honda!

Now I also went up the road to Werribee to City West Yamaha looking at luggage and came accross the new FZ1 at a much reduced price so I had a look at the beast for the first time in a serious manner. Didn't like the straight handlebars or the fairing compared to the Fazer FZ6S.
Didn't like the exhaust either, so there ya go and the extra $4,000 buys a lot of other pleasures.

BUT, I did get some long needed soft panniers from Ventura and now need to make some sort of brackets for them. Finally I can carry a raincoat etc on those Fazer trips.

Yeah, be happy to catch up with you guys no problems.
Plenty of places to drink down here but count me out. Always a coffee on the brew though in my little garage which I have converted into a biker cafe for my mates in the group I am involved in. We have a few rides each year and meet regularly.

anyway, you guys have got to know me a bit thanks to this website and it has certainly given me heaps of good advice since I got on the Fazer.
Be happy to catch up with you on your travels.
But I would like to point out that I am a 'sober rider' and so are my mates in the Chapter Six Motorcycle Group:

Just respect my sobriety and those other riders that may be out there!

$170 and they are expanding sports panniers. Saw a guy make a frame for something similar out of stainless rod threaded at one end on this website.
Might do something similar myself.

I max out at 2 Beams per man per day per haps, so I'm always good for a ride at a couple hours notice. I drink it 'cause I like the taste and not for effect Gone are my days of sitting down to a couple bottles of scotch before heading out clubbing. We'd be happy to join you for a coffee, I'm sure. Especially at the end of a very long ride. (I'd prefer the coffee:scared: Put some zing back...lol.):thumbup:

I'm really pleased to see that motorcycles go with everything also (eg Cpt 6). They (like the good people on this forum) seem to get along very well.
(However if any of you could provide any hints to get my wife on the back of a motorised two wheel machine, I'll be forever in your debt.)

I purchased a lovely Dririder tank bag over Christmas that adheres using magnetised magneto magnets. Mmmmmarvellous! Anything to beat that backpack. Enjoy a good chiropractic free trip on me.

Lol.....i would of thought if she was not enjoying it, you would of got the jabs in the ribs, or heard the whimpering when at stops....i know about this, cause i have experienced it!

I rode 20000km's around Europe with a chick once, and then one day, she just lost her nerve....got screamed at very loudly, so pulled over, only to turn around and realise she was crying hysterically....

Managed to get her back on the bike, to get "home" to London....but she never ever got back on the bike again.....

As for the remote Keg thing.....it's gotta be out there, and i gotta have one...if i find one....will post the link!

Its always a fine line between that vice like grip around your waist being a death grip of fear, and a joy grip of excitement/not wanting to fall off the back.
Probably the best bet is to take it REALLY slow. Yes really really really slow, with just rides around a training area so they get used to the feel of the bike.
The worst thing you can do is take them out of their comfort zone early on, because you lose their trust and they won't feel secure on the back.
Generally being on the back of a bike with no experience is a bit scary, especially when you can't control the bike at all (my gf still tries by leaning back at the worst times, she doesn't seem to realise that it occasionally lifts the front wheel off the ground, or totally screws up the steering meaning she is more likely to die, but shes also one of 'those' people who don't seem to grasp the physics behind riding/driving).

Anyway my grandfather once told me that there are 2 kinds of pillions, naturals, those that can learn, the 'third' kind are the ones that won't and can't.
Probably the best bet is suggesting a few short rides then taking her to the shops in non peak hour traffic. This way she can do something she probably enjoys (or take her to a movie she wants to see or for a coffee etc) while you get to take her for a ride.
It also means she can't buy too much (Oh sorry love not enough storage for all that on the bike!) and means if she is one of the two kinds of pillions will eventually be happy or at least not totally negative about pillioning.

Oh and getting someone to buy a scooter in the hopes it will improve their pillioning skills will not work at all! Totally different riding style, and in my limited experience it does the opposite!

Don't force her.

She's either a rider, pillion or someone who should NEVER get on the back of a bike.

Just enjoy the fact the she "lets" you ride.

Believe me, a lot of people tell their partners what to/not to do.

Never been like that myself - as long as it's legal, not hurting anyone else and you still have time to spare with your other half - there's no harm in it.

Hmmm wait this rule leaves alot of leeway.

Paying for sex gets through I don't think some partners would like that :spank:

But yea if they just aren't a pillion its best to leave it at that, the final attempt would be seeing if they are interested in riding themselves, some people are too much of a control freak to let someone else be the rider, and they might actually find they enjoy riding on their own bike.
Then once they are on fulls they can have you on the back!!!
