Sorry Bryan I didn't notice but I'll be pulling wheels to get my new tires mounted tomorrow near by and will try to stop at FBC and see if they have one.

Congratulations John! I hear nothing but amazing things about the '09 models, which were all new from the '08 model year. Supposed to be an amazing chasis and motor:thumbup:. Hope to see it in person soon.

I rode a co-workers 2009 ZX-6R Monster Energy edition last year and I was completely impressed with it. Gear changes were butter smooth, and throttle input was much more like a rheostat rather than an "on-off" switch. The seat felt as if were made of wood, but thats fairly typical of most true sportbikes.

+1 on the gear changes and throttle feel... both excellent. The seat didn't bother me much, and it surprisingly felt pretty comfy to me (I was so excited to rip through a few corners on it that I think I could have gone all day if John didn't stop me after struggling to catch me back on the Buell lol).

What impressed me as well was the speedo... that thing is sick! It looks beautiful, and they have this nice "green zone" in the tach, highlighting the "power zone" before the redline (I think it was from 8k to 16k redline)... it's a great idea to get an idea of where you are at a glance... what I am really jealous of though is the integrated lap timer, which will log lap times for you each time you press the small push button next to the turn signal switch (left hand)... I want that on my gixxer!!! :cheer:

hmmmm... I wonder how to work the lap timer on my Triumph then. There must be a way to trip the lap timer on my bars as well, but never looked into it.

just picked up my 09 monster energy zx6r today.... in the snow....

Do you still have the stock exhuast on there? Mine came with a hot bodies pipe. I looked into the stock and it has a damper in there. Does this help with the midrange power around 5k? I will probably loose a tad of midrange with the aftermarket on there.

No-one will be able to answer your question without dyno charts to compare.... sign up to the Ninja forum (lol)... I am sure you can find millions of stock vs "insert pipe here" dyno charts there... keep in mind that the stocky is much heavier too...

My advice? just ride the damn thing... it's plenty fast enough either way

The yamaha EXUP valves later were useless and a more performance bottleneck and more a EPA gimmick to reduce noise. I would doubt other such valves are any different.
