BMW Unveils Inline Six

While the Concept 6 is merely a show bike, BMW plans to build the six-cylinder engine for production, stating that it will find its way into a future variant of a K bike.

Interesting. Remember the old Honda CBX? It was an inline six as well. I know where two are. If I remember correctly, one of the magazines tested a CBX and after riding it extensively they removed the engine and put it on the test bench then ran it wide open for thirty minutes. At the end of that time, they tore it down and the only thing that had changed was that the bolts in one of the sidecovers had vibrated loose. The worst thing about it is that it was so wide. It too had six pipes. Thanks for the link.

Yes, I know the CBX! There is a guy riding one almost every week I see him at a bike stop.
The BMW is famous for its inline six they put in their cars to have very low vibration; the camshaft is very well balanced and is an unique feeling when you drive their cars, completely different from a V6.
I wonder what's going to made it to production from this Concept 6..

Lots of CBXs on the road here, in fact one of my friends who was in Cape Town with me has one.

The CBX never had 6 pipes as standard, they were all 6 into 2.

The Benelli 750 Sei on the other hand did have 6 pipes.
