Everything you said here, especially the part about how Yamahas are put together. Out of six or seven bikes, my Fazer is my first Yamaha. Guess who told me, (in a whisper), that I would not find a bike put together better than a Yamaha? (A salesman at the Kaw/Suzuki dealer just down the street from them!)

I own an FZ6 and my son who lives with me owns a Ninja 650R. I ride both bikes. Both have about the same riding position.

Around town, I like the 650R better. It's smoother shifting and better sounding.

On the freeway, I like the FZ6 better. More stable, excellent power.

To me, they are equally fun on the canyon roads.

The Ninja does not have a gas gauge and the FZ6 does. I like having a gas gauge.

hey everyone thanks for all of the replies. time for a little update. i went to my local dealer again today and had them pull out four bikes for me to sit on...yamaha fz6, suzuki gladius, and the kawasaki er6-n and 650r. sorry to say that i am now pretty darn sure the fz6 will not be first bike. i did not like how it felt to me. so as of right now the bike that is at the top of my list was my original favorite the kawi ninja 650r. it is by far the most comfortable to me and it still has very good reviews. i will still be around the forum though. once again thanks for all of the advice. :thumbup:

Agreed. :thumbup: Once you start with bikes you'll want to own more and different ones anyway.
