Hellgate, thanks for the plug. I was checking web traffic this morning and saw that I had a few referals from here, which it is always nice to see new traffic.

Being the owner of a couple of "classic" Buells....well I guess they are all soon to be classics thanks to H-D, I have tried to create a niche in the market around Buells. Well the best laid plans of mice and men....we all know how that goes. Anyway, a scooter seat is a scooter seat to me and I love motorbikes regardless of the badge on the tank.

Can anyone here help me out with model year changes to the seat pans on the FZ6? I see that he upholstery has changed, but it looks like the seat pan may be the same fit for several years???? If it looks like there maybe any demand I would entertain adding the FZ6 to my seat core exchange program.

Thanks,

By support do you mean fit? Is so, yes I can fit a wider range than a stock seat, and the production aftermarket seats. Taller seams to always be doable, while short the limiting factor is the seat pan and how much foam was put on the stock seat to begin with. I do use Pro Pad gel inserts and orthopedic memory foam, and the combination can get down to about 1 1/2" above the seat pan and still have great comfort.

You are welcome!

The FZ6 is a great bike and folks here love to mod.

I meant many model years, but yes, that too. :) Stock seat on FZ6 is not long range riding friendly so many people change them. I think, you may have a problem with producing lowered seat on the stock seat pan since that seems to be problem for other manufactures, but if you can figure that out, you will probably make many people happy. That seems to be the one of the complaints from many people for the aftermarket seats.

"If you build it, they will come"
But seriously, give us a seat that can handle long rides coupled with a more reasonable price and I'm sure the lot of the members here will be very interested. I'm also a firm believer in excellent service post product sale, in case of any issues.
