Thanks! I have a serious question for you though.. Did the headlight mini fairing you have come with the headlight or did you have to supply your own?

I bought my Phantom IV headlight (including the mini fairing) directly from the shop in Germany using Euros (225 euros at the time)... I did not want to pay in USD and get ripped off by the exchange rate....

I am currently working with an Wavex (I don't speak French) to get just a fairing imported....I bought my own headlight (from a '03 GSX-R 1000) in the U.S. because it was cheaper. the fairing itself may run close to $500 :eek: the light assy. was $220

I went the cheap route originally and ended up with a $150 piece of trash. This is one of those things that you do get what you pay for. It had brake/tail lights for headlight bulbs!

yes you can buy a Buell setup or "universal" headlights/buckets, but that is a dime a dozen (no offence to anyone who has done this). Sometimes that is what the budget says you can afford. But to me it doesn't even whisper "custom" it just says "hey I put these lights on here because I couldn't afford/fabricate/wait for something that better suited me. If those light are really what tickled your fancy than great....but if everyone around town saw it and went out and bought the same thing I would be looking for something different pretty soon.

Hopefully within a couple of months :rolleyes: I will show you guys just how much better (to me) a headlight w/mini fairing can make a bike look.......stay tuned :D

Thats not the gsxr headlight you have or had, right? Did that one come with the headlight or was it just the fairing?

It's important to mention that the mini-fairing is $500 because of the horrible exchange rate and expensive shipping... it would be $250 if the US to EURO rate was 1 to 1 (which it should be if it weren't for the bad political/economical climate right now). So the shop in France has a fair price... we just happen to have a weak currency over here, that's all.

What's your point? You're going to tell me I was stupid for buying the headlight from Europe because I could have gotten it in the US on ebay for much cheaper? You think I did not know that?

Let it go man, we got your point... these headlights are WAY to expensive for your budget... and that's perfectly fine. Let it go... as Kyle mentioned above, you get what you pay for...

For the record, I still have a bank account in France and I use that to buy stuff over there, so to me the exchange rate is virtually irrelevant... so yes, I bought my gixxer lights + mini fairings directly from the shop in France... Also, FYI: I owned two K5, and one K3 from that shop and ended up selling 2 of them to members of the forum (the K3 was destroyed when I totaled my first FZ), so I got most of my money back.

Dude wtf is your problem?!?! I said Truce! Im not trying to start anything, I'm just asking a question! I could afford a dozen of these things no problem if I wanted one.. I asked a simple question because the site is in French and Im trying to understand it.. They have some pictures that show the mini fairing with a headlight in it.. I was wondering if your buying just the mini fairing or if the headlight in the picture comes with it... Chill the F out

The Tete de fourche K5 Shows it with a headlight in it.. So do you get the headlight and fairing for 450 € or just the fairing?

Yes, 250 euros for the fairing alone, 450 euros for both headlight + mini-fairing.

Im working with a fiberglass and carbon fiber fabricator to work on some custom mini fairings for all types of headlights.. Gsxr, dominators, single 7", etc.. Once I get a prototype done Ill post pics.. :)

Awesome... you're planning to setup a business? The potential in the US is there for sure... good timing too imo with the US streetfighter scene taking off...

If you ever ask for more than $500 for a headlight + mini-fairing, I will come kick your ass :D

Ha ha.. I already own a few wrist watch websites.. I noticed the opening in the market for US made custom headlights that dont cost a ton and started working on it.. I agree.. With streetfighters taking off and the only choices being $500 parts from Europe, or $50 crap from China there is a niche for midrange priced high end parts.. How cool would it be to have a solid carbon fiber fairing instead of a plastic fairing from china with carbon fiber print on it..
 
Sweet, good luck with it and keep us updated on these headlights! I'll take one of your meanest one... I'd be willing to test anything on my Buell for you :D
