FZ6 Definatley a 'niche' bike

I live in Indianapolis and congregated with the crowds during the moto gp festivities downtown both nights. To get to it, there are not many FZ6 owners around, least not around here, compared to the masses of cbr, ninja, R whatevers, etc. on the roads. I should have tallyed the # of R6's i saw parked downtown both nights, it was mind boggling. I'm a new to motorcycles and wondered how many of my bike configuration (08 cobalt blue) i'd see among the masses. I saw none. I came across 3 FZ1's. No wonder i got the looks i did, and i thought it was my bad ass gear. No man, its my bike!

I rode over to Indy from Lafayette on Thursday and saw everything but a Fizzy in the bike parking area besides mine. On the other hand I bet none of the R6's & CBR's would have made the 1,100 mile trip I made on Fizzy this week

My Saab is rather rare in my neck of the woods, which I like, but I had to pay thru the nose for the privilege.
The nice thing about the FZ-6 is its rather unique but doesn't cost an arm and a leg! :thumbup:

Lol! Yes Fizzers are definitely few and far between about the place...in fact, i often get people asking me what my bike is....

It's a good thing.....makes it even better, when you blow someone away at the lights....i reckon they must think, what the hell was that!

^^^I get that too. People asking what kind of bike it is. That is one of the reasons l like the FZ. Not everybody has one.

Proudest moment of my life was when I was in heavy traffic on the way to work one day and a guy in the car next to me asked what bike I was on and said it was the best looking naked he had seen.
Had a good convo till the traffic started moving again turned out he owned a FJR1300!

One thing you will notice is that the full faired bikes are the most popular especially past the learner bracket, but its great having something a bit different IMO!
I mean I'm proud when I see another FZ6 whether its a S or N but mainly because its so rare. On a good riding day I see so many Street Triples I wonder if they give them away free at the pub if you buy more than 2 drinks

No doubt that our bikes are special. I've gotten a lot of comments at gas stations, etc, of how nice the bike looks. At one point, four guys came over while I filled her up, and told me they had never seen such a sexy bike:rockon:

Not only that, but roughly a month ago, some dude on a 2002 R1 thought he could easily run away from me. After a number of km's, he signalled to pull over. He was very impressed with my bike's performance, especially around turns. This guys had ridden sport bikes for more than 2 decades and had built that R1 from two other write-offs. so he knew what he was talking about

I guess few other bike has such high value for money in regards of looks and performance as the Fz6

I went for a short ride yesterday and, while riding past a wooded reservoir, passed a parked red FZ6. I nearly snapped my neck twisting around to see it. Someone in my area has a dark blue one but those are the only other FZ6s I have seen, besides mine.

I've had my fz6 for a year and 3 days now. I saw my first other fz6 just last week and almost dropped my bike I was so surprised.

I think there's an FZ1 around but that's it. Most of the bikes around are gixxers or cruisers.

As others have said I like having a bike that's different than everyone else's

And my FZ6N

Either I'm unique, or nobody likes the FZ6 enough to ever buy one! Even Yamaha dealers look at me funny when I tell them I have an FZ6! Niche bike indeed!

fazers are probably on the top 10 most common bikes in Greece, definitely not a niche bike.
though i guess since greece is one of the global goldmines for motorcycles every bike is common
FZ6's are abit more rare but still i see one or two every other day

Everywhere you go, you can hear the sound of a HD V twin in the summer, always. The only other FZ6 I see in the valley is my Brother-in-Laws!

Ya, luckily by the middle of September (when most HD riders get too cold)* I don't hear as many around. I don't know what it is about BMWs around the Pewaukee/Waukesha/Lake Country area. They come in groups too. I know there's a BMW dealership in Milwaukee. Apparently business is good!

*Quick funny, my step-father-in-law just bought an '05 Fatboy last week. He's been dreaming about getting one for YEARS and finally got the balls to buy one. This past Saturday he didn't ride it because he said it was too cold, it was 62F!

Too hot, too cold, to windy, too rainy. When do some of these people find time to ride. The Harley riders at work are always perplexed when I ride in less than perfect conditions. That's why I don't like chrome.

I've seen three other ones on the road. A local shop also just sold a blue 09. A month or two ago, I saw one parked at a shop real close to my place, I jotted down the address of the website and my screenname and stuck it between the tank and seat so they'd see it. So far i haven't heard anything from them.

haha When I was talking to one local dealer, I asked if they had FZ6s in stock and the guy told me "Yes, we have one yellow one and one white one." I asked "You mean the FZ6R right?" "Oh no, FZ6" I drove up to the shop regardless to see thinking at best they were used and custom painted. haha He pointed me to it, I said, "that's an FZ6R" so he went into the back to see if they had any actual FZ6s.. Had to order them.. Strange thing is that the guy I spoke to on the phone was aware of the FZ6 dying after 09. From what I heard, there will be no 2010 FZ6 since the R is here.

I like the fact that dual underseat exhaust makes people automatically assume it's something exotic.

I've only seen two other FZ6's in my commutes: both had girls on the back.

I'm pretty sure I can count on one hand the number of FZ6's I've seen around my area, one of which is my brother so idk if you can count that. It's such a well-rounded bike I really don't get why they don't sell better. All I know is I'll be keeping mine for a long long time. I love my Fizzer!
