people at work ask me all the time how much my 09 was.. i tell them right at 10k! i mostly get a wow thats all? brand new? haha...:Flash:
then i tell them it was alot less and they fall over
 
I was thinking that too, until I was crushed to find out that my undertail exhaust is just a plastic shroud painted to look metal.

It cost me a lot of extra money in the end to put a quality undertail exhaust on the bike...

I guess your point is still valid, that it does look more expensive than it really is. Just don't look too closely at that exhaust...

you dont have to look at it, you just have to hear its cheap whistle

Well, not really.
I have learned that a same size Triumph, Ducati, etc. are not much more expensive, if not the same. For what bikes you can buy this days on the same $ amount, the FZ6 is OK, but not the greatest, IMO.
BUT in 2005, this was a kick a$$ bike - no question about!

I personally love my FZ; I am impressed with it's performance & handling and I don't need anything else right now to enjoy my canyon rides & little trips. But I try not to go crazy with mods and save my money to get myself a nicer bike later on.
(I found that a stock bike will sell faster, most dealers will stay away when you want o trade in your heavily modded bike, not to mention you will not recover most of the $ you put in the mods).
 
when I was looking for a bike in my price range (2500-3k) all the other bikes looked like they cost 2500-3K except for the FZ6 I couldn't believe it was in the same range as some of the other bikes I was looking at (sv's,ninjas,GS).
 
Everyone that has ever seen my Fz6 thinks it cost 10k plus, love the look when I tell them the cost. Bought mine new 05, did not have a clue how cool it was, just liked it and was planning on stepping up to an R1. Now I want a turbo on my Fizzer instead, not so sure I would like the aggressive riding position anyway,Just can't get comfortable on a full race style frame after riding the FZ6 for 4 years. I have tried an R6, CBR1000, GSXR750.1000. Just don't need to take a hairpin at 100 on the way to the market I guess. If I rode track it would be a different story I bet.
I think I would rather have two FZ6's than an R1 at this point.
