I have a bit of an issue. My bike seem to be pulsating (i am talking engine noise here) when I am going between 70-80km/hr. It disappears under acceleration and only happens in the one gear (whatever gear puts you around 5k rpm probably 4th). Seems to get worse after the bike warms up

I have tried it with and without power commander, no change
I just changed my plugs- no change
All maintenance has been meticulous and at or before scheduled mileage
Couple really light drops but problem didn't appear until well after

Mods as listed below

Any ideas?

I wish i could provide a more accurate description of what it sounded like but i am hoping someone will have an epiphany

Go on, epiph me up homies

My 2004 (9k miles) does this too. Same rpms approximately. I am interested to see who has this issue and what it is. Doesn't sound like a problem, just a little different.

It's weird that it only happens in one gear...otherwise I might have said it's the characteristic engine buzziness that these bikes have. My bike (and it seems others people's bikes as well) are super buzzy between 5500-7500 rpm...I generally just try to stay above of that rpm range unless I'm riding in-town.

Did you have any further luck diagnosing it?

I think the buzziness is because they sync the throttle bodies at idle, instead of at 4k which is the minimum RPM that i cruise at.
