Doesnt look like you have an exhaust yet. Why not save up and get the two bros exaust with the FE kit?

This is what I did, and got some led indicators, the ones that come with the tbr exhaust aren't great.

As for the legality of the fe kit, the copper who gave me the 'excessive noise' infringement notice didn't mention the fe kit. Although, he did say that my stock rear tire hugger wasn't regulation lol

Does anyone not install an FE kit?

The FZ6 fender is much less obtrusive than those on other bikes. Most sport bikes have awlful looking sticks with a licence plate attached. I guess they want them easily removed for track days. As only a small % go to the track that group buys FEs.

There really is not much fender to remove on the FZ6 and it does help if you live somewhere where water falls from the sky.

Thoughts on fender eliminators, are they worth it and is this one good?

Are they worth it? You are gaining zero function. You are losing protection from water and dirt flying up.
I had FE on my last bike. Sure it made it look better, but after one rain ride, tail light / rear of bike would be covered with crap.
I also think FZ6 has one of the best looking OEM fenders (this, of course, is a matter of opinion).
So.. just decide what's more important to you, looks or function :)

I have the FAZR6 fe and I think it's the most OEM you can get and getting rid of that horrendous stock plastic for me is a must, but that's just a personal preference! Installation was a breeze too, I say go for it!

Can't say I have any issues with the stock fender, as someone else said its pretty damn good for one that comes on a bike especially compared to other bikes.
I was interested in removing it early on, but have grown to like it :D for now, plus the whole being defected thing, not fun :p

Not fun...it required me sourcing a stock exhaust (Thanks Stumbles), and taking off my TB's, etc, etc, to take for a pointless inspection that cost me $130!

Thinking about this one
YAMAHA FZ 6 FZ6 FENDER ELIMINATOR 05 06 07 08 2009 CKIT:eBay Motors (item 350216295692 end time Jun-28-09 08:05:36 PDT)

I have this same one, but without the signals. The stock signals will mount up, although I had to drill out the holes a little to make them fit. I really like this FE, although sometimes I wish it was a little closer to the exhaust.

I don't currently have my license plate light mounted up, but the cops around here don't care that much, and if they did, I could figure out some way to use it. I left the wire for it there just in case.

Here are some pics.

1) It hangs too low 2) you had to hack the signal stalks to fit them 3) Police will care if your riding at night w/o a plate light

Jeez, little harsh, huh?

Hey, it looks better than stock, and it was cheaper than the FAZR6 FE, although I do like the looks of that one better. I can always drill holes in the license plate and mount it up higher. Changing the signals is also easy. Again, if the cops don't like it, it is easily changed. I just haven't gotten around to mounting it up.
