G'day guys, How's it all going? Just thought i'd chuck a quick post in, I picked up my new '09 FZ6S on Saturday, am head over heels for it, so i'ts good to find like minded enthusiasts....... A bit of a quick blurb, i'm in Nelson Bay (just north of Newcastle), this is my 2nd bike after a KLX-250, work in the RAAF....

Couple of things i'd like some opinions on (there might be some existing threads) is aftermarket pipes for the FZ6 (I know i just bought it, but i'd love some extra growl) and any good rides around Newcastle area that people know of.......

Anyway, pleasure to meet everyone.

G'day mate , :welcome: to the forum always like seeing new Aussies pop up :thumbup:.....How's Willytown treating ya ?? I live up here at Amberley so if ya ever get up this way with work let me know , catch up for a beer :D....

Plenty of pipe options for the FZ6 mate , TwoBros are very popular but there is still plenty of others to choose from like Leo Vince , Scorpion , Akra the list is nearly endless , i run Microns on mine but they are getting hard to find since they went broke...I know of a set up here in QLD for sale though , if your interested :D...Any Yamaha dealer will be able to help you out though :thumbup:
 
Hey buddy, I only recently got my two brothers carbonfibre slip on's from the U.S. They are easy to install yourself and come with a fender eliminator too. Probably worth waiting to see if the ozzie dollar climbs up against the greenback before buying to get a better deal. A lot of aftermarket stuff is cheaper to get from the US than buying it in oz.

Can't help too much with rides, but I do seem to remember some nice bends between Swansea and Caves Beach turnoff. Also the back way from Swansea up the big hill and over to the previous road I mentioned would be fun also if I remember right...lol.

That's for a quick blat:thumbup:.

If it were me...lol..I'd head over to Mount Thorely:rockon:. It's only 120km-ish away and from there you can go South through some awesome roads that'll take you to the Freeway, for either a straight ride back:(:spank::spank: (URGH!) or a return through the twisties:rockon:. You could from Mount Thorley also take Putty Road, through the Blue Mountains to Windsor. Nice way to get to Sydney if you're not in a hurry:rockon:...lol. Lotsa roos if I remember right so day time would be best.

Hope your bike treats you as well as mine has me, and look forward to hearing more from you...*Mind wanders off in Blue Mountains Ride Fantasy:eek:*.

Also mate, if you look on you tube there are lots of vids of different exhausts on fazers so you can see what they will look and sound like on the bike.

I got my pipes from the US as well,heaps cheaper when the dollar was in the 90's and only took 5 days .

I can't help with rides up that way either but I,m sure you will find some,when we want some we just follow Mikey :D

Thanks for the welcome guys..... sorry about the delay in replying...... Got my first service done today, also had the preload on the rear shock stiffened up a notch (now at 4), man did that make a difference, I weigh about 75ish kg's, and now the bike just feels more planted, especially through bends...... seems to have lost a bit of vibration as well, might be the new oil??

Got some yamaha oggy knobs chucked on as well, better safe than sorry, was meant to get a ventura rack and bag as well (part of my deal when i bought the bike) but apparently the 08 one the ordered didn't fit, the rear cowl is different this year apparently.....

So after all that, my fender eliminator, led indicators and titned visor for helmet rocked up this arvie..... so spent the last couple of hours fitting that. Damn it looks a hell of a lot better without the chunky yammy fender on it hey??

So been a big day for the bike..... can't wait to go for a burn tomorrow.....

Whats news in sunny Aus?
 
I got the FE off e-bay..... bout 70 bucks, seems to be pretty good quality, fits easily....... and yeah I was a little dubious about the why the rack wouldn't fit, theyre gonna call me back tomoz and let me know exactly what the deal is...... so will see how i go??

they are pulling your leg buddy....rear cowl has not changed one little nit. more like ly they ordered the wrong thing, or didnt order it at all, and are making excuse's....

not a fan of dealership's....treat customers as if they are stupid...most of the time!
