I look at Obama as the first mixed race President and his wife as the first true black person to live in the white House. That must be a Trivial persuit question before long.

There is nothing wrong having a female leader either. Margret Thatcher proved that women can be tough when they need to be. Thank god she was in charge for the Falklands.

Denmarks next Premier could be a woman...and a tasty one at that.

I don`t care if they are Gay, straight, black, white christian or muslim as long as they can do the job correctly.

No, US presidents from now on will have to be a "first" of some kind.
First of this race, First of this culture, first with this kind of amputation, first with this or that sort of gender identity disorder.

How many questions by the "little" people can the stomach?
How many special interest groups will they have to brownnose to get votes?

I hated Margaret Thatcher as a prime minister, but she was a great prime minister to have in the time of a war.

Yeah, you sure wouldn't have wanted to lose those frozen, bird **** covered rocks down there in the antarctic!

Would it be any different if someone took over one of the many bird **** covered rocks in the pacific.

.......First of all British Royal Marines had been taken prisoner by the Argentinians so going down to get our guys back was a good idea.

Secondly, the inhabitants of the Falklands choose to be British citizens, so we were also repatriating our own citizens.

Third, the oil and gas reserves around the Falkands belong to Britain when we decide to harvest them.

Fourth, The Falklands have significant military significance in the South Atlantic.

Fifth, It is a well known fact that us Britis like rock covered S&&t in the middle of nowhere.

I have to admit that when Maggie said pack your bags you are going to the Falklands, we had to look at a map because we had no idea where it was.

There is some justification in going to war when you know for certain what the reason is for going.

I totally agree with you Steve, if someone invades lands belonging to your country, where ever they are, that is an act of war.

Anyway getting back on track, I totally agree with Steve (once again), none of the above mentioned groups should be either favoured or discriminated against, but judged on their merits.

Steve, you've got it right, people should be judged on their merit and nothing else, but unfortunately that is not the society that many people live in. And that Obama is a mixed race president, not a "black" president. He is just as white as he is black, not to say that a mixed race president is less of an accomplishment..if anything, it is more.
