I ran in to this today.

The theory goes that there is a 10th planet (X) and during it's 3000+ year orbit it will be closer to us than our Sun by year 2012. The theory continues that the planet has it's own "dark" sun. The extreme vicinity of this planet may have substantial effects on our planet. The year 2012 coincides with the ending of the Mayan calendar. Doing more research about the 2012 "doomsday" as some call it, I found that the Norwegian government has built several secret bunkers by the Antarctic ocean. The bunkers have millions of seeds stored in -20 degrees temperatures allowing the growth of crops anew. As space is limited only selected officials will have access to those bunkers.

But in all seriousness I believe something will happen in 2012 but I am not convinced the world will end.
 
I am too convinced something will happen in 2012, the world will end, jesus will rise again, computers will be infected by the y2k12 bug, the world will be covered in mushroom clouds, etc.


ORRRRRRRRRRRRRR nothing, because it's just the end of a goddamn ancient calendar and doesn't mean ****.
 
2012 olympics in london , after the brilliant chinese olympics, the bunkers were built by the uk olympic commity to hie their shame and embaressment:D

Is "Conspiracy" an American word???

These bunkers you claim are secret, - have been know to the public here in Scandinavia for years.
The project is supported by the UN, WHO and many other big international non-profit organisations.
It is correct that they store seeds in these bunkers (which resides on Svalbard, due to the year round low temperatures there).
These bunkers are referred to as "Seed-banks", and the aim is to collect seeds from every living plant on the planet.
This is done in the realization the we as a human race tend to wipe out species, and that we now have a unique opportunity to preserve history in this way.

There is nothing secret about the project, and the only reason that access is restricted is that due to the delicate storing processes the environment inside the bunkers needs to 110% stabil.
 
Don't forget our happy frenchman Nostradamus... Michel de Nostredame was his real name. He actually had the balls to name the date in 2012 that the world would end. december 21st or the 12th if memory serves correctly... There's at least 3 or 4 of these end of days things all coincidentally mesh even though spanning centuries and thousands of miles apart. Nostradamus used "HERB"s and a "seeing method" and the mayans used astrological calendars and calculations based upon 26000 or so year cycles. Here's my question... How did these "primitive" peoples know about cycles that took 26000 years to take place? A whole crap load of coincidence...

Nostradamus was so vague in all his predictions, that they can be read to fit almost any significant event ......
This makes him a good writer, - NOT a prophet!!!

Regarding the Mayans, more and more things they did is being uncovered as relative simple mathematics, but since most of the basic things have already been explained, not many resources is used on it any more.
Calling the Mayans primitives is straight out wrong. Most of the mathematical principles used today in our world, was present at that time as well.

The Mayans were around when? Oh around the Death of Christ, give or take several hundred years. They people who put the calendar together, when making it, had no idea how long we would be on the square planet. So more than likely, they came up the winter solstis (spelling) in the year 2012, and went "Damn, thats a long ways away, Im tired of doing this." Then went to harvest some corn which we ultimatley traded with them many moons later in exchange for diseases in which they didnt know existed.

There is also a computer program that was designed to read the "human unconcious" on the internet to see if we all were giving out subliminal messages about our future, and after it's scan it also had the date of 2012. However, 2012 has been talked about for a long time so it's no surprise that it picked up on this.
The only thing I can see effecting us is our solar system passing through the equatorial plain of the milky way galaxy (as posted about earlier). As it could possibly "invert" our solar system and the transition could effect us. We are the most advanced organism on the earth in it's history as far as we know, but we really know jack all about anything in the big scheme of things.
I say live your life, and don't plan on anything horrendous happening in December of 2012... If **** happens then it's survival of the fitest, and I plan on making it 'cause a country boy can survive!
 
A couple weeks ago I heard that the yellowstone caldera was behaving a bit more active than usual. I think this is quite alarming, because yellowstone appears to be overtime(it erupts in cycles of 600.000 years and it has been 640.000 now) The problem is that they know for certain that it will erupt but it can be tomorrow or within 20.000 years. So I wouldn't worry about it to much, but let it just be a motivation to live today and not in a far future.
