Stebel Horn

Well I,ve noticed recently that my Stebel won't always work when I hit the button ,but the standard horn will.So yesterday I pulled everything apart and removed the standard horn and all the wires and the relay and hooked the Stebel up to the standard wires with an inline fuse and it works fine.

Turns out it was the relay at fault,anyone else had this ?

Mine is doing the same thing. I traced it back to a bad ground wire. My wire is broken just off the relay tab. Besure to check all your wires.

Thanks Bryan,yeah I did that . Took bloody ages ,lol.

But def.the relay.The pin going to the Stebel had no power.

I ment to look up that relay once before and see what the spec sheet was like on it. I am wondering if there would be a good alternative for it. Might have to pay a few pennies more for it, but would offer better performance. I.E. Work when it is supposed to. LOL.

I don't think I will bother with the relay again,seems to work fine without it ,mind you it does make a funny noise when you get the wires backwards ,lol

So just how load is this horn? I read the product description and it sounds like... almost too much? Maybe it's one of those cases where "you can never have too much..."

Your right ! Now all of Oz will be in 2009 while you guys will be still in 08

Very loud mate,but like you say ,you can never have enough loud ,lol

+1. It has saved my butt a couple times. I should mount up another one, lol.

If you really want to get the best from these horns, use your existing horn wires only for activating the NAPA relay you will be installing. Run a heavier gauge wire from your terminal block (if you have one for aux lts, etc.) through the relay to your horn. No problems.

Similar to what I did,factory horn wires to relay and a heavy gauge from battery.I think the relay they send with them are rubbish !
