Ear Phones

ok.. its xmas time and i have no idea of what i want. but i thought a new set of ear phones would be nice cuz the ones that came with the ipod don't work on one side. anyone have any suggestions on good ones for the bike? thanks

I've tried a few types and I really like the 'marshmellow' ones from Best Buy. They're pretty cheap ($20), quite comfortable, they stay in, they've lasted longer than other brands I've had, and they come in lots of pretty colors too.

ok but this would be something that i would have the rents buy for me. so trying to explain somthing like bike stands, or stainless brake lines.. its just easier to say, hey mom. at best buy they have these earphones.. you know. just eliviates the explination part of things.

I didn't say I could afford them either. A co-worker uses them and really likes them. I might use some of my teaching $$ to buy some if I don't lose my primary job in the next few months.

I have a set of the Bose earbuds and the work quite well they sound good and fit your ears well with the interchangeable silicone ear pieces they are a little pricey but its worth it

I use the ear bud style. It is nice because it's comfortable and it blocks out some of the noise. That way I can listen at a lower volume level and not end up hurting my hearing by cranking up the tunes in my ear to over power the sounds of the ride. It is easy to do damage to yourself with out even knowing it. I have a hard time hearing because of working with power tools and thinking that hearing protection was not that big of a deal.

I recommend the synheisser (spelling is butchered...) or the bose in ear. Both will make the ipod ones sound like the crap they are.

On a side note, Zox now makes a helmet that is mp3 capable out of the box with built in speakers!

I have a set of JVC bi-metal they are about $100 but I think they are worth it I have no complaints.

I have a standard set of headphones bought at best buy that I took the speakers off of the headband part and hot glued them into my helmet. After a while the ear buds made my ears sore, and this works great. As a matter of fact, I bought one of those ipod shuffles and Velcroed it to the front of my helmet under my screen. Now, no wires to worry about. When I want to add music or charge it, I just take the ipod into the house. Then when I am done, I hook it back up to the helmet, and away I go. Easy on, and Easy off.

i use a set of sony ear buds they cost me $40 at radio shack the sound quality is great and they are really comfortable. They are also pretty durable I'm hard on my stuff and they've been dropped stepped on and dragged and still work perfect.

Check out Hearing Dynamics - Welcome they have a good selection that mold right in to the ear, I bought some just at the end of the biking season but boy did they work slick!!:thumbup:
