Bike in the basement?

So - how many of you can boast that you have a new bike in the basement?

We can! Hubby just picked up a '08 WR250X today. And we had a good time on the roads before dark hit. Sure hope the weather man is wrong about snow for tomorrow - sure would be fun to hit the roads again!

But... The WR will never catch the FZ6! :rockon:

You lucky dog! I have been looking at it every time I visit the dealer. How does it handle? What about power? My problem is I'm tall and fat, so I would worry the 250 wouldn't be enough.

Gosh - my hubby came off an XT250 - and he is way impresses. He rides hard and pushes the bike's limits.

He says it handles great, very smooth ride, power is excellent - with plenty to spare. He claims that I will not catch him - but we shall see after he gets those new tires totally scrubbed in...

The bike sits high - he tip toes it at the stop, but it balances excellent. As far as weight goes, I am not sure what you weigh, but the suspension can be adjusted to accomodate weight easily.

He loves it so far!!

I don't think that I would ever bring a bike in the house. Maybe the basement(and I mean MAYBE), but never my living room.

Cool, I am a coin toss away from trading in my 2007 XR650L on the WR. I bought a ton of parts to motard it, but it is just tooo damn heavy.

I have a budy of mine up here in Seattle that put his race bike in the dinning room of the house he just got done building and his wife actualy likes it being in there so much he may but his street bike in there with it

...it's just starting to snow here now. I think you'll like this bike. Nothing wrong with liking 2 bikes. Since you have it in the basement, maybe you want to add a couple of nice accessories to it while it's inside. There's a nice light rear rack. What are your plans?

Right now, he would just like to be able to ride it - it is snowing here too.

But... I think some hand guards will be going on pretty quick. As far as anything else, he hasn't said. I would put the heavy skid plate on if it were mine for a little off-roading. And - I would add a nice rear rack - just like you mentioned. Oh - and maybe a small windshield? That bike has you feeling like you are perched on top of a log! (My impression, not his.) Lots of wind.
