I've noticed that I tend to sit more to right of my seat. I kinda thought that it was the stock seat making me do this. So I bought the Comfort Seat and I tend to do the same thing. Can it be that the bike is out of alignment? Or maybe I have a misaligned back? I try to sit right in the middle, but it feels uncomfortable, feels like I'm offset somehow. Does this sound familiar to anyone??

Personally, I think it's normal. Most of us are not actually symetrical. The older we get, the worse it gets. Hard work, old injuries, etc. tend to make us favor certain parts of our bodies without our being conscious of it. It's why mom was always reminding us to "Sit up straight."

I noticed myself riding in the center of the seat but closer to the tank..I have tried scooting back some but it too feels strange and then it seems to hurt my back the longer I ride...then again,, I realized once i hit about 65 to 70 mph, the seat starts to vibrate more so I scoot up more.!!! Wait....what? LOL!!! Sorry about that!!

I do it too, just ever so slightly, and not just on the FZ6. Don't know why and, like you, I've tried to consciously realign myself, but that doesn't seem to work. I'm comfortable, and it doesn't disrupt anything, so I don't let it bother me.

Im a newbie rider and I noticed the same thing. I am 6-3 250lbs and I tried to sit at the back of the front part of the seat. I am comfortable but I end up unknowingly scooted back up to the tank also. But I noticed a few occasions I was sitting on the right side for than the left and yes now I think about it I had my wallet in the left back pocket of the riding pants.

I do feel comfortable offset like that. I never noticed this on my Katana, I rode that bike for 8 plus years and I don't think I ever felt this way. Maybe that bike was misaligned and I got used to it?

What really got me worried is that the comfort seat's vinyl is slightly loose. Because of my offset it made a small crease on the right side. Long term I don't think that is good, it will start to crack or rip at some point. Oh well!

I noticed a similar thing, in that the bike would "drift" to the left. After being worried about wheel alignment etc, an old biker told me i was the problem, leaning slightly to one side.

What i do to try get straight is just sit up and let go the handlebars ... all things being equal, the bike should run straight. If it doesn't, then you know.

i ride in the center with the family jewels on the tank. When i stop i put my left foot down and bare most of the weight on my left foot. If that makes sense.
