There are quite a few members on here that do not own an FZ6. I want to see what all of you think about letting non-FZ6 riders submit their bike pics for BOTM.

I think, as long as everyone agrees, that this is based upon the originality of the photo as well as the bike itself.. so if they are a good standing member.. why do they have to be left out? They all contribute to the forum. 
How about a poll on it for everyone to vote?

As long as they are a contributing member what they ride shouldn't be counted out from the bike of the month

I think it should stay an FZ6 only competition. This is an FZ6 forum, not that I dont appreciate non FZ riders contributions, I think the competition should be limited to only FZs. Just my opinion. I'm hoping to submit some photos as soon as I get a working digi cam, hopefully before wintertime.

Well I voted no. I've been participating in a photocontest on another (not bike related) forum. We started that contest there to challenge the photographers to be creative with the subject that was given. But yet somehow people always found a way to post sunset pics for every topic, and worst of all : they often won too.
Since we all drive FZ6's here, the challenge for us is to take inspiring and original pictures of our machines, and we're fighting with the same weapons.
If we're going to allow people to submit pics from flashy expensive bikes or cool looking street fighters, I already know how the votes will turn out.
By the way : how are you going to post a non FZ6 pic as BOTM on the main forum page? That would be kinda stupid IMO.

Although I think any contributing members should be allowed to enter laz makes a good point. New people may be a litt put off. Maybe if it is a non FZ6 picture we put a caption below it. Something like:
"This rider's choice in bike was so bad we just felt sorry for him"
That's not really fair though because that could be said for all the non red ones on the forum. How about:
"Every rider goes down eventually but not every rider takes it up the..."

Or:
"Nice scenary to bad the bike ruins it"
Or all FZ6 bikes must incorporate FZ6 into the picture.
"As you can see his poor bike was vandalized when it was spray painted with 'FZ6 RULZ!' in pink"
I voted no, not because I don't appreciate the non-FZ6ers, but because it is a forum for the FZ6 and I think the bike posted on the front page should be an FZ6. I know if I had just joined a forum for a specific bike, seeing something else....would make me look elsewhere for a group of that specific bike, they would know more about MY bike.
That being said, I wouldn't mind other bikes being in the BOTM if that is the decision but the picture would have to be pretty darn spectacular for me to vote for something other than an FZ6. Its hard enough for a fully faired FZ to win over a naked.....
