Do you smoke cigarettes?

Smoked for 10 years before I quit. Hard as hell but definitely worth it. Once in a while I might smoke one at the bars though.

I smoked for 50 years, but quit a couple ago. For those who want to quit, Chantix works. I'd tried several times previous, including a different prescription, but nothing killed the craving until Chantix.

I just wanted to through out some kudos to those who have quit and those who are or are trying to quit, as I can only imagine how difficult it would be to quit. Good luck to those who are making the effort now! ! ! !

I roll my own... 8 years... 40 a day... real cigarettes are too expensive and taste like crap...

Recently pondered quitting, if only to help fund a new addiction.... bikes!!! :D

My g/f's mom used Chantix and it worked for her as well, she had been smoking over 20 years. She did say she had some crazy dreams as a side effect though.

Gave up smokes last year NOV 25 and have no troubles now:thumbup: (very occasional craving, easily beaten:spank:). It's one of the best things I've ever done for myself:D. I'm happy with the money, stoked with the health gains but I'm unspeakably proud of myself for saying far q to the vile things and absolutely hate them now:thumbup:. I don't have a problem with smokers but in order to quit I trained myself to hate smokes with a passion and it worked a treat:rockon:. I hope this thread inspires even one person to chuck in the evil things ( preferably more).
Cheers

No, but my Grandma has smoked enough for the whole family. Over a million cigarettes and counting. She smokes them down to the VERY end. She has a blister on her lip from there always being a cigarette there. Had cancer, beat it and still going strong. I don't know how she is still alive. I hope I got her genetics.:D A comedian once said, "You know...kissing a smoker is like licking an ash tray...I'll remember that next time I'm lonely.":D

Like Deb said, congratulations to those who have quit and to those who are currently trying, stay strong, you can do it.

It's hard as hell to quit; I remember. I tried more than 10 times over the course of 4 years and it was never easy. Keep pushing through the urges, you can do it. My hump was three weeks. It seemed like it got harder every day for three weeks, then it got easier every day after that.

If it helps anyone, what finally worked for me was the patch. I used nicoderm with the 3 step program. I actually tried that one maybe 3 or 4 times but it finally worked.

Something that also helped was putting the cigarette money toward something rewarding. At a pack a day, I was spending about $150/month on cigarettes. I put that money toward maid service and stopped cleaning my own house. I got addicted to having a clean house without having to do it myself, so my choice was if I started cigs I would have to clean the house. I still don't smoke.

I wish I had something to give up (not an addiction) so I could save the money.. I sure could use some help cleaning the house. I live with 3 boys(including my hubby), 2 dogs, 2 cats.. so you can imagine the help I need lol. That is the way you have to look at it too..you need to reward yourself with something. This is a big feat.. and I think spouses are incredibly important with this, if they smoke, they should be extremely supportive of the one trying to quit, if they don't quit with them. My poor dad has tried several times to quit, my mom just gives up too quickly she figures there is no point in it now.. I told her that I would like her to see my grandchildren. My grandmother never smoked(she owned a restaurant back in the days they were allowed to smoke) or drank, she had breast cancer, and survived several operations to remove more an more of her ribs... as she had a full mastectomy.. I find it hard to believe that sort of thing does not convince people of the dangers of smoking or second hand smoke....sorry for the  .. and thanks for listening. ;)

I don't care if you hate me :Flip:

I smoked for awhile, about a year and a half. Marlboro 27's. Then I just did it when I drank. Now I don't even do it then. Once in awhile I want one, but I don't know, I just dont. Maybe if a real special occasion comes up...

i can roll a joint that will make a green snot bubble come out of both sides of your nose. but i dont smoke that any more. just get alot of requests to "roll one for me will ya?"
i quit cigarettes for 18 years, cold turkey. started again. wanted one every day. will quit again, soon.

I originally voted: NO. However I think I need to change my vote because I smoke my FZ tires. No, I don't inhale the smoke but I do some mad burnouts creating crazy amounts of smoke. :steve::justkidding:
Oh yeah, what about the second hand smoke we all have to breathe? :disapprove:

Man...... I dig smoking, don't regret it one bit. Smoke because I want to, not because I'm stuck. Its a conscious decision every time, and I love it every time. Never once have I taken a drag, or pulled at the "reds" and said, dammit, I need to stop, or dammit, I shouldn't be doing this. I think, dammit, this is good - momma may I have another.

Smoking during drinking, after sex, after eating, and best of all after carving up a canyon stretch of road chilling with your riding buddies, is truly satisfying.

Hey, anybody got a smoke? :)

 Damn....most smokers say they want to quit. You've never smoked so much that your lungs hurt and you feel sick to your stomach? Danny and I smoked a whole carton in 2 days, when we went to Vegas! We were so sick....we couldn't even breathe without coughing!

Of course you can over do it, just like anything else. I love milk, do you see me downing 5 gallons of it, and puking all over the place. Your situation occured because you and Danny are nutjobs, has nothing to with smokey, smokey :).

I think the only thing you can't do in excess is pizza. I can never have enough pizza, and eat it without fear of negative reprecussions ha ha. And then have a smoke when i'm done!!!!!!
