Just How good is the FZ6 two-up?

Me and my wife combined are 340 pounds (most of that is me). You won't be having the same kind of fun as you would alone, but you shouoldn't be railing it and flying with a passenger anyway. if your just touring of going for a nice ride with two up, the FZ6 has all the power you need. (keyword, Need!)

I totally agree with this.

I have done about 18000km this year and about 80% has been 2 up. We are medium size people.

I have a yamaha lowered seat because I was on tip toes with the stock seat and i fitted passenger peg extentions for Jannie.

The FZ6 is great for touring 2 up. Our longest day on the way to France was 900km and we only stopped because it was getting dark and we were hungry.
It is a light and nippy bike with loads of power 2 up and with full gear.

Are there better touring bikes?? Yes of course there is but they are probably more expensive and a hell of a lot heavier to drag around.

For 2 up riding for medium sized people the FZ6 is a great bike to tour on.

Riding through Denmark, Germany, Begium, Holland and France and then back again gives you some idea what this bike can and cannot do.

I just went out on Telegraph canyon to 94 2 up today. Bike has plenty of power out of the corners. Make sure she knows what shes doing if you decide to go in the twistys 2up!

Another little trick for braking while 2 up if the passenger is sliding into you. Instead of the passenger wrapping her hands/arms around you, tell her to put her hands on the tank in front of you. That will press her up against you and she can hold herself up when you get on the brakes. Additionally, as you begin to lean, you will lean into her arm, forcing her to lean with you in the turns.

After reading all the comments i think the FZ would do fine for me 2 up. I do most of my riding solo anyway, and i commute to work solo as well. Im sure there will be enough power with a passenger on the back. thanks for the feedback.

2up is a piece of cake on the FZ. I have probably put 3,000 miles 2up on my bike, and it's never bitched about it. Plenty of power and can cruise all day long. I recently did 1,200 miles in 47 hours 2up. It was alot of interstate riding at 85-90 mph and it did great. I say go for it.
