I managed to get the "clunk" out of the gearshift by degreasing and lubing the chain and using some lithium soap grease on the shift itself. It shifts like butter now! . Hopefully you're having as much fun on your new bike as I am on mine.
Haha, sorry I've been super busy the last few days so I didn't log in. I've riding the bike to work for a couple of days now, and it handles really really well. . The gearshift at lower gears and RPM is a bit clunky for me but I think its just a combination of Yamaha's bad design and my "rust". I've had the same problem in some other Yamaha models.
I might try to harden up the suspension one of these days because I like fast tight turns. .

and we found these bags that compress all the air out of them just by rolling them up. Great space savers if you need that sort of thing.
