Do you just tighten the (Chrome) Nut on top of the Triple tree or do you tighten the one under that? Where you use the Spanner (w/h is also used for the rear shocks)?

You tighten the one under the big chrome nut. There are actually two nuts under the big chrome. the bottom one is the nut you tighten to adjust the steering head bearings and the top nut (as I recall) is spaced apart but connected to the lower nut by a type of lock washer. When the big chrome is tightened it actually compresses against the top nut - the top of the two lower . . .

Hope you are not confused although this description might read that way.

Edit: I bought a tool to tighten the nut with - some use the spanner which is for the rear shock preload adjustment. I found that it did not work too well.

You will have to remove the chrome nut (#8), the upper triple tree (#9) and the lock washer (#6) to get to the lock nuts.

You'll tighten the lower lock nut, and use the rubber spacer, upper nut, and lock washer to lock it all in place.
