I'm a new rider (beware), but not new to bikes. My son has a FZ1 & my husband owns three bikes, but not Yamahas. I do have a question for anyone out there that might know how to lower my bike an inch or so? I'm looking into having the seat shaved down, but if there's anything else I can do, I'd love to hear from ya. Thanks :)

Welcome welcome glad your here.

Here is a good link on lowering bikes.
Motorcycle Suspension

The link is to a awesome site on motorcycling. If you went to home and saved it to favorites and read thru a few topics a day for a while it will serve you well.

thank you all.....we've had a little cold snap here, but by Sat & Sun it's supposed to be back up to 'riding weather'. You just never know in Colorado, but it's one of the best places I've ever lived. And it's even better on a bike!
