Why the FZ6 is doomed in the US...

Ditto. I did the same thing. The first day I saw one on the showroom floor, (after two years of shopping), I bought it. As soon as I got on it I knew THIS was the bike. (I've never regretted it either)

I was the same way. I saw the bike on craigslist and then went to see the seller at his home. I took my friend along to help me out since he had been riding for a while. We were rehearsing ways to haggle with the seller to lower the price while we were in my car getting there. As soon as I got on the bike I said "This is perfect!"
I am no good at haggling, what can I say..... :D

I would say it looks a lot like the Aprillia Shiver which is a very cool bike.

Looks like direct competition for this:

Way closer to the Shiv. It has a thumper engine, and very short wheelbase. To me, it looks like a hell of a platform to build a streetfighter.
It's like a naked/SMX mix. I want one bad.
